US / Canada Accountant

We are looking for experienced US / Canada Accountant to support our accounting and tax operations across Canadian and U.S. clients. This is a fully remote, contract-based role that requires strong technical accounting knowledge, the ability to manage multiple client files, and a high level of attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Canadian and U.S. tax filings, financial reporting, and bookkeeping, and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote environment while meeting strict deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:**

 Prepare and review Canadian and U.S. accounting records for multiple clients

 Perform full-cycle bookkeeping, including bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations

 Assist with Canadian (T1, T2, T3) and U.S. (1040, 1120, 1065, 1041) tax filings

 Prepare financial statements in accordance with ASPE, IFRS, and/or US GAAP

 Support cross-border accounting and tax matters, including non-resident filings where applicable

 Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all assigned work

 Collaborate with internal team members to meet client deadlines and compliance requirements

Requirements

 - 5+ years of relevant accounting experience

 - Strong experience with Canadian and/or U.S. accounting and tax filings

 - Working knowledge of ASPE, IFRS, and US GAAP

 - Experience with QuickBooks and advanced Microsoft Excel

 - Ability to manage multiple client files simultaneously in a remote environment

 - Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

 - Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 - US CPA or IRS EA is required for this role

 - Canadian CPA designation is an asset
