• POSITION SUMMARY:

Marathon Petroleum has an opening for a Training Specialist.

• KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Ensures site-wide compliance with regulatory, corporate, and site policies (RSP-1305) by developing, managing, and delivering comprehensive operator training programs.

• Develops, manages, and maintains operator training plans, including field and board qualification plans as well as upskilling lesson plans as required per policies and procedures. Develops, manages, and maintains qualification 
  evaluations and drawings as required by policy. Manages necessary training documents and records in accordance with policy. Reviews and updates all training materials for accuracy and alignment with instructional system design 
  principles.

• Responsible for all unit qualification training and upskilling for field and console operators including administering qualification testing. Responsible for Return to Work, Refresher and Front-Line Supervisor training. Assists in Basic 
  Operator Training (BOT) and in coordinating contingency training. Collaborates with Area Team and/or Technologists to organize and facilitate specialized vendor training sessions.

• Responsible for ensuring necessary training classes for major projects and turnarounds (TARs) are scheduled and completed. Assists in developing the training material for MPs and TAR and aligns with policies. Participates in 
  development of the start-up and shutdown timelines. Coordinates training material and books for the TAR or MP with Area Team.

• Participates in Hazard and Operability (Hazop) studies, Management of Change (MOC) hazard evaluations, incident investigations, Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) walkdowns, and Operational Excellence (OpsEx) audits. Complete 
  recommendations and action items for training materials and events.

• Provides assistance with troubleshooting during periods of abnormal operations or when requested by the area team. Assists in development of ‘what-if’ drills. Backfill other roles as needed in Area Team.

• EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. (Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date)
• A minimum of 5 years of refinery experience is preferred.
