Technical Services Geologist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Services Geologist based in Australia.

This is a fully remote opportunity for an experienced mining professional supporting the adoption and successful use of advanced mining technology.
You will provide technical services, customer training, consulting, and operational support across underground mining environments.
The role combines geological and technical expertise with customer relationship management and commercial awareness.
You will work directly with mine-site teams and leadership to drive adoption, demonstrate value, and resolve technical challenges.
The position also offers opportunities to contribute to business development, customer expansion, product improvements, and go-to-market initiatives.
You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, and other cross-functional teams to translate field insights into practical improvements.
Frequent domestic and international travel, including visits to underground mine sites, is an important part of the role.

Accountabilities:

• Work safely and professionally at underground mine sites, remote locations, and customer facilities.

• Provide technical training, consulting, and support to customers with diverse technical and mining backgrounds.

• Assess, document, troubleshoot, and resolve customer issues efficiently while maintaining a positive and value-focused customer experience.

• Act as the primary technical point of contact for assigned customers and prospects, supporting continued engagement, satisfaction, adoption, and successful use of the technology.

• Collaborate with regional teams to support business development and increase awareness within the mining industry.

• Identify expansion, upsell, and renewal opportunities within assigned accounts, working with Sales and Commercial teams to support long-term account growth.

• Gather feedback from mine sites and remote customer interactions and translate insights into improvements to products, training, and go-to-market approaches.

• Support Sales and go-to-market activities by developing business cases, assisting with evaluations and pilots, and reinforcing return on investment and value realization.

• Test and familiarize yourself with new product releases and features to provide effective customer guidance and support.

• Develop and refine training materials, best practices, and customer enablement resources.

• Build strong cross-functional relationships with Product, Engineering, Sales, and other teams.

• Respond professionally to changing priorities and ad-hoc customer or operational requirements.

• Travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.

• Requirements:

• 5+ years of underground mining experience in a Technical Services capacity, preferably within Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Engineering, or a related field is strongly preferred.

• Strong understanding of underground face mapping concepts and their practical application.

• Experience using underground mapping, modelling, and/or engineering software.

• Customer-focused approach with the ability to build trusted, long-term relationships with technical and operational stakeholders.

• Ability to balance technical delivery, customer ownership, and commercial awareness.

• Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to learn new technologies, products, and use cases quickly.

• Strong communication and presentation skills across technical, operational, and commercial audiences.

• Comfortable presenting to small groups, mine-site teams, and customer leadership.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.

• Excellent written, verbal, and reading comprehension skills in English.

• Valid driver's license and passport.

• Ability to work in underground mine environments, including occasional confined spaces, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 30 kg.

• Comfortable with frequent sitting, standing, typing, air travel, and underground site work.
