Your Role

Thornton Tomasetti (TT) is seeking an engineer or structural steel detailer with computer programming experience to join the CORE studio Application Development team, a dedicated software development team within CORE focused on building custom applications for TT and our clients. You’ll be a key part of the team supporting the numerous project leaders and working closely with development teams within CORE studio. The goal of the position will be to develop and maintain Tekla Structures plugins, tools and customizations that provide value to TT’s practices and technical staff. You’ll need to be highly motivated and have demonstrated professional experience in developing novel computational solutions to engineering and/or design problems, including engineering calculations and reporting automation. You will work in a highly creative and collaborative environment as you support, build, and maintain applications for the broader staff.

What You'll Bring

 

• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil/structural engineering.

• Programming experience in .NET using C#.

• Proficiency with Tekla Structures, Revit, Rhino & Grasshopper, and their respective APIs & SDKs.

• At least 1-5 years’ professional experience as a practicing engineer, structural steel detailer, or designer in the AEC industry.

• Schedule flexibility to maximize alignment with American time zones.

Additional Skills

• Understanding of web development.

• Knowledge of SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, RAM Concept.

• Familiarity with WPF, MVVM, and Material Design is a plus.

• Experience with version control (Git).

• Experience with Virtual Design and Construction.
