Sr. Test Engineer (API testing)

The role requires hands-on involvement in test design, execution, defect management, and validation activities while working closely with QA Leads, Developers, and Business stakeholders in an Agile environment.Key Responsibilities1. Perform functional, integration, regression, and UAT testing across Retail and eCommerce applications.2. Analyze requirements and prepare test scenarios, test cases, and test data.3. Execute test cases, log defects, retest fixes, and support test closure activities.4. Validate APIs and backend data using SQL queries.5. Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA Leads to clarify requirements and resolve issues.6. Participating in Agile ceremonies include sprint planning, standups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.7. Ensure end-to-end traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.8. Support release validation and production verification activities.9. Identify defects, risks, and gaps during testing and communicate them proactively.10. Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and testing practices.Requirements1. Strong expertise in manual testing across functional, integration, regression, and UAT testing.2. Good working knowledge of SQL for data validation and backend testing.3. Basic to intermediate understanding of API testing concepts and tools such as Postman.4. Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.5. Experience using Jira or other test/defect management tools.6. Ability to create and execute test scenarios and test cases independently.7. Experience in Order Management Systems and Oracle Retail applications is preferred.8. Awareness of version control tools such as GitHub.9. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.10. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.Domain Experience1.
