The impact you’ll make
The Enterprise Application Operations Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence, governance, service delivery, compliance, and continuous improvement across a portfolio of enterprise applications supporting critical business functions. This role serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, application teams, managed service providers, and strategic vendors to ensure stable operations, successful project execution, and measurable business outcomes.
What you’ll do
Enterprise Application Operations & Service Management
- Lead operational governance and delivery management across the Business Systems Applications (BuSA) portfolio.
- Manage Application Management Services (AMS) engagements delivered through external service providers.
- Drive service delivery performance, operational health, and SLA compliance.
- Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and IT leaders to ensure application support aligns with business priorities.
- Facilitate critical incident management, escalation resolution, and executive communications.
- Conduct periodic service reviews, operational assessments, and performance discussions.
- Support strategic initiatives including reporting, analytics, chatbot solutions, and environmental, health, and safety programs.
Application Portfolio Management
- Oversee operational support and maintenance activities across the application portfolio.
- Lead project delivery associated with transformation, modernization, and enhancement initiatives.
- Coordinate stakeholders, vendors, and project teams through assessment, planning, implementation, and transition phases.
- Track project milestones, risks, dependencies, and executive reporting requirements.
- Promote application lifecycle management best practices and operational sustainability.
Operational Excellence, Governance & Compliance
- Establish and maintain operational governance frameworks across enterprise applications.
- Develop and manage KPI dashboards, scorecards, executive reporting, and service performance metrics.
- Drive action plans addressing operational risks, service gaps, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Support IT General Controls (ITGC), audit readiness, SOX-related activities, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Partner with internal audit, cybersecurity, and compliance teams to remediate identified control gaps.
Vendor Governance & Relationship Management
- Lead governance programs for AMS providers and strategic implementation partners.
- Conduct recurring vendor performance reviews focused on quality, cost, delivery effectiveness, and SLA adherence.
- Monitor contractual commitments, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships that improve operational efficiency and business outcomes.
Program & Project Leadership
- Manage cross-functional initiatives involving business, application, vendor, and technical teams.
- Lead project execution, stakeholder communications, issue management, and status reporting.
- Ensure successful transition of projects into steady-state operations.
- Drive organizational readiness, knowledge transfer, and post-deployment stabilization activities.
- Lead hypercare and operational stabilization following major system releases.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive knowledge management, process optimization, automation, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Maintain support documentation, operational procedures, and lessons learned repositories.
- Support release management and post-implementation operational effectiveness.
- Promote innovative solutions that improve efficiency, transparency, and service quality.
Who we’re looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of experience managing enterprise applications, application operations, or IT service delivery.
- 5+ years of experience managing outsourced AMS providers and strategic vendor relationships.
- Experience leading operational governance, service management, and compliance initiatives.
- Strong program and project management experience supporting enterprise application environments.
- Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams and executive stakeholder groups.
- Working knowledge of ITIL practices, incident management, problem management, change management, and service operations.
- Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience supporting enterprise platforms such as EHS, CLM, PLM, APM, ERP, or similar business systems.
- Experience working with global service providers such as HCL, Infosys, Accenture, Deloitte, or equivalent organizations.
- Familiarity with SOX, ITGC, audit, cybersecurity, and compliance frameworks.
- PMP, ITIL, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent certifications.
- Experience supporting digital transformation, application modernization, and operational excellence programs.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
