About the Role

ACI Worldwide is seeking a Sr IT Security Engineer to help design, build, and operate security capabilities that protect our cloud platforms, applications, AI-enabled solutions, and enterprise infrastructure. This is a hands-on engineering role that combines cloud security, security operations, incident response, automation, and continuous security improvement.

You will work closely with engineering, cloud, platform, AI/ML, and operations teams to implement scalable security controls, strengthen detection and response capabilities, and support compliance and audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls across AWS and Azure environments.
• Build and enhance security operations capabilities, including SIEM/SOAR, detection engineering, alert triage, and incident response workflows.
• Support security investigations, incident response, and post-incident remediation activities.
• Improve identity and access management, encryption, logging, vulnerability management, and platform hardening controls.
• Develop automation, security tooling, standards, runbooks, and technical documentation.
• Partner with engineering teams to embed secure-by-design practices across applications, cloud services, and AI-enabled solutions.
• Participate in an on-call rotation supporting security incidents and escalations.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to security best practices across the organization.

Qualifications

Required

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in Security Engineering and/or Security Operations.
• Experience securing cloud environments, preferably across both AWS and Azure.
• Strong knowledge of SIEM/SOAR platforms, incident response, vulnerability management, and security monitoring.
• Experience supporting security incidents and on-call response activities.
• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across multiple technical teams.

Preferred

• Experience with Python, PowerShell, Bash, Go, Ansible, or similar automation tools.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), Policy-as-Code, and continuous compliance frameworks.
• Knowledge of container and Kubernetes security.
• Experience with AI/LLM security, governance, testing, or monitoring.
• Exposure to regulated or audit-focused environments.
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, AZ-500, AWS Security Specialty, GIAC, or equivalent.
