Vena Solutions is hiring a Solution Architect, Product & Technology (Acterys), to help shape and evolve the architecture of the Acterys application within Vena’s growing SaaS platform. In this role, you’ll take ownership of the solution architecture for new and existing capabilities, working closely with product and engineering partners to turn business needs into secure, scalable, resilient, and high‑quality solutions.
You’ll bring strong experience designing cloud‑based applications and data‑rich integrated systems, with a thoughtful approach to non‑functional requirements such as performance, security, reliability, and data integrity. As part of your day‑to‑day work, you’ll use AI‑assisted tools to support architectural analysis, accelerate design exploration, assess impacts, and improve documentation, while applying sound judgment and clear accountability to architectural decisions.
Collaboration is central to this role. You’ll work alongside teams across Product, Engineering, CloudOps, Infrastructure, and Security to guide solutions from early design through delivery and evolution. You’ll also help teams adopt AI in practical, responsible ways, ensuring solutions are transparent, well‑governed, and aligned with customer trust and compliance expectations.

- Solution Architecture, Strategy & Delivery:
- Partner with Product Management and domain experts to define, own, and evolve the solution architecture and roadmap for a set of Acterys features and capabilities within a cloud‑based SaaS environment.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering teams to define pragmatic, well‑reasoned solution designs that balance functional needs with performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
- Review and validate engineering designs and implementations to ensure alignment with approved solution architecture, architectural standards, and compliance requirements.
- Support delivery teams throughout the delivery lifecycle by helping resolve complex technical challenges, guiding refactoring efforts, and improving solution quality as requirements and constraints evolve.
- Research & Continuous Improvement:
- Stay informed of relevant industry trends, technologies, and architectural practices, evaluating opportunities to evolve solution patterns, blueprints, and delivery approaches.
- Leverage modern tooling, including AI‑assisted research and analysis, to support informed architectural decisions and continuous improvement.
- Architecture Communication & Enablement:
- Maintain clear, accurate architecture artifacts and decision records, ensuring solutions are well understood and traceable across stakeholders.
- Proactively communicate architectural decisions and changes, while mentoring and supporting engineers through design reviews, working sessions, and knowledge sharing.
- Actively participate in architecture governance, contributing to the definition and application of standards, principles, policies, and best practices.
- Help ensure architectural decisions are consistent, well‑reasoned, and aligned with platform strategy, compliance expectations, and long‑term sustainability.
- Innovation & Proof of Concept:
- Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders on proof‑of‑concept initiatives to explore new capabilities and support business cases for future features and enhancements.
- Contribute to a culture of innovation by helping teams experiment responsibly while maintaining architectural quality and customer trust.
- 2+ years’ experience in applied Solution Architecture, 12+ years’ experience in software development
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure with a focus on Microsoft SQL Server and/or Azure SQL Server
- Good knowledge of relational databases/OLTP and SQL language for reporting, including knowledge of TSQL and procedural SQL
- Good understanding of Data Warehousing key concepts:
- Star Schema (Dimensions, Fact tables, Measures)
- Familiarity with ETL for DWs
- Strengths and weaknesses of DWs
- Good knowledge of Power BI technology stack:
- Familiar with DAX and M
- Familiar with building Power BI Models
- Prior experience with financial systems and reports
- P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow reports
- Prior experience with financial systems, CPM, ERPs, cloud-based accounting systems (Xero, QuickBooks, etc.) highly regarded
- Experience in designing distributed and concurrent systems and microservices and APIs (REST, GraphQL)
- Knowledge of and experience with development of cloud-based SaaS applications
- Proven collaboration, communication and influencing skills across diverse stakeholders
- Working knowledge of Angular and Typescript is beneficial
Interest in AI and willingness to explore AI-driven solutions to enhance performance and drive efficiencies
