Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence. The products our portfolio include Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Power BI. Our mission is to build the data platform for the age of AI, powering a new class of data-first applications and driving a data culture.

​​Within Azure Data, the Azure Data Analytics team builds the core analytics experiences in Microsoft Fabric. We own the Data Warehouse, Data Engineering, Data Science, AI, and Power BI workloads, enabling customers to ingest, transform, analyze, and derive insights from structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data at enterprise scale. Our team is at the center of Microsoft's strategy to deliver a seamless, end-to-end analytics experience in Fabric.​

​​​​The Data Engineering Infra team builds and maintains the infrastructure that powers Microsoft Fabric Spark, Azure Synapse Spark, and Cosmos Analytics. These services operate at massive scale and execute millions of Spark jobs daily.

Responsibilities

Learn and begin writing extensible, maintainable code, applying coding patterns and best practices.
- Assist in debugging, testing, and proactively identifying issues using tools like logs, telemetry, and automated code analysis under oversight.
- Support the development and testing of design options, understanding system dependencies, performance, scalability, and security fundamentals.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure quality, learn coding standards, and begin reviewing peers' work.
- Learn to incorporate AI tools responsibly across the software development lifecycle and review AI-generated changes.
- Support security best practices, including code invariants, security testing, monitoring, and compliance efforts with direct guidance.
- Collaborate with partner teams to ensure feature integration, end-to-end testing, and smooth deployment processes, escalating issues as necessary.
- Work on call to support customers and resolve service degradation, downtime, or interruptions.​

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

​​Associate's Degree or Apprenticeship in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ months work or internship proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.​
