Software Engineer Intern

SentLogic is a Meta-approved platform that turns Instagram DMs into a measurable revenue channel for Shopify brands. Our AI advisor reads buyer intent in a DM thread, answers from live Shopify data like stock and sizing, and closes the sale inside the conversation. Every resulting order is written to an append-only ledger that ties it back to the exact thread that produced it. Most marketing attribution is a statistical guess. Ours is a chain of custody.

We are a small remote team of five across the US and India. The product went live in production in August 2026 and is in its first merchant trials. You would be joining early enough that your work ships and gets used.

The role

Full-time remote internship, six months, with a path to a full-time offer for the right person. You will work directly with the founder and alongside the engineering partner building the platform. This is a small company, not a rotation programme. You get real problems and real code review, but you should want that rather than needing a structured curriculum.

What you'll work on

• Building and testing features across our Python backend and Next.js dashboard
• Writing integration tests against the Shopify and Meta Graph APIs
• Internal tooling that makes a five person team move faster
• Debugging live issues in webhook processing and background job queues
• Prototyping against our retrieval layer, including embeddings and brand voice tuning
• Documenting what you build so the next person does not have to rediscover it

Our stack

Python and FastAPI. Async workers on Arq. Postgres 16 with pgvector. Next.js App Router on the front end. Redis, S3 compatible object storage, Git based workflow with code review on every merge. You will not know all of it on day. You should be able to name at least and show us something you built with it.

What we're looking for

• Working knowledge of at least of Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript, with code we can look at. A GitHub repo, a personal project, coursework, anything real.
• Comfort with Git in a team setting: branches, pull requests, resolving your own conflicts.
• The instinct to read an error message and a stack trace before asking. We will always help, but we want someone who tries first.
• Clear written English. On a distributed team most communication is asynchronous and written, and this matters more than it sounds like it does.
• Genuine interest in e-commerce, marketing technology, or attribution. You do not need experience in it. You do need to find it interesting, because you will be reasoning about merchant problems, not just tickets.

Nice to have

REST API integration experience, exposure to Postgres, prior work with LLM APIs or vector search, or a Shopify or Meta developer account you have actually built against.

Formal enrolment in a Computer Science or related degree is preferred but not required. If you can show equivalent work, show us the work.

Compensation and terms

• ₹25,000 to ₹30,000 per month, depending on experience
• Six month term, full-time, fully remote
• Working hours are 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM IST, Monday to Friday. Hours are fixed to IST. US-side overlap shifts by hour when US clocks change on 1 November 2026.
• Strong performers receive a full-time offer at the end of the term. Equity participation becomes available SentLogic completes its planned conversion to a Delaware C-corporation.
• All contributors sign an IP assignment agreement before starting
