Software Engineer I

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Software Engineer I to join our team as we build and continuously improve Atlas. As a part-time team member, you will take ownership of end-to-end code delivery—designing, developing, testing, and deploying features that directly impact our users. You will also be responsible for performing high-quality assurance on your code, leveraging the latest AI tools to ensure robust, efficient, and maintainable solutions.

This is a part-time role (up to 20 hours per week) with the opportunity to transition to full-time in the future.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain new and existing features of Atlas, our dental software platform
• Take ownership of the full software development lifecycle for assigned projects
• Use AI-powered QA tools to test and validate your own work, ensuring the highest quality standards
• Collaborate with team members to design technical solutions that meet customer and business needs
• Participate in code reviews, provide feedback, and contribute to a culture of improvement
• Work independently and efficiently from home, managing your schedule and deliverables

 

Requirements

• Experience with modern programming languages (such as Python, JavaScript, or similar)
• Knowledge of web development fundamentals (front-end and back-end preferred)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work autonomously and take end-to-end ownership of features
• Comfortable QAing your own code using AI tools and best practices
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be able and willing to work part-time (up to 20 hours/week)
• Interest in transitioning to full-time as future opportunities arise

 

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay rate: $25 – $35 per hour, depending on experience
• Part-time employees: 80 hours of Paid Time Off (PTO) per year
• Full-time employees (future): 120 hours of PTO per year, full medical, dental, vision, and more
