Job Description

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Equans has established a global ERP Shared Line of Service (SLS), structured around two key platforms—SAP and Microsoft Dynamics. Its mission is to drive value from ERP systems by adopting new technologies, promoting best practices, and aligning with business goals.

SLS acts as a strategic partner to the business, offering leadership, governance, and a unified ERP roadmap. It fosters a global ERP community, sets security and operational standards, and ensures consistent programme and project oversight.

The service aims to boost productivity by sharing expertise, reducing duplication, and identifying opportunities for convergence and transformation.

It supports around 32,000 ERP users worldwide offering a wide range of functional and technical services.

Summary of the role

In this role, reporting to the Security & Authorisations Lead, you will be part of a combined Level 2/3 Application Management Services (AMS) team within our newly established India IT Hub. You will be responsible for resolving access, authorisation, and access-related configuration issues, managing role changes and firefighter access, testing changes before UAT, and escalating complex issues.

In addition, you will play a key role in supporting the Security & Authorisations Lead to migrate SAP services from the Equans France in‑house team to SLS ERP, ensuring full alignment with global Equans standards.

Key Objectives & KPIs

• Service Quality and Compliance: Deliver high‑quality Security & Authorisations AMS services by resolving access, role, and authorisation incidents and small changes within agreed SLAs. Ensure all changes follow security standards, include appropriate testing, complete documentation, and controlled transport management across environments. KPI Example: 90% compliance with incident and service request SLAs
• Business Stakeholder Satisfaction: Build trusted relationships with Business Process Owners, Business Analysts, and key users by providing clear communication on access requests, incident resolution, and risk‑based decisions. Support audit readiness through accurate access models, evidence, and timely responses to security queries. KPI Example: 4.2 / 5 average stakeholder satisfaction score from quarterly service reviews or feedback survey
• Strengthen SAP Expertise: Continuously strengthen SAP Security & Authorisations expertise, including role design, GRC, Segregation of Duty, and access governance, by actively using SAP Learning Hub and relevant training platforms to support secure and compliant service delivery. KPI Example: Completion of at least 2 SAP Learning Hub courses or learning journeys per quarter

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the AMS team across SAP domains and IT hubs to ensure effective incident resolution, knowledge sharing, consistent security practices, and to seek functional AMS guidance when assessing or implementing changes
• Work Planning & Prioritisation: Execute assigned AMS security and authorisation tasks in line with agreed prioritisation, ensuring timely and high‑quality delivery of operational support and minor change activities
• Business Relationships: Build and maintain effective working relationships with Business Process Owners, Business Analysts, and key users to ensure access and security services meet business requirements
• Service Level Compliance: Perform Keep‑It‑Running (KIR) activities by prioritising and resolving security, access, and authorisation incidents within agreed SLAs, escalating complex or high‑risk issues when required
• Application Change Management: Handle service catalogue requests related to security and authorisations, including role changes and access adjustments. Perform unit testing, system integration testing, and non‑regression testing, and support users in User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Maintain accurate documentation, including operating procedures, role and access design documentation and test evidence. Raise and manage transport requests for changes into test environments and support post‑deployment activities.
• Operational Collaboration: Work closely with Level 1 and Level 1.5 support teams to manage escalations, support incident triage, provide knowledge transfer, and improve first‑line resolution of access issues
• Vendor Case Management: Raise and manage vendor support cases where required, tracking progress, maintaining clear communication, and escalating appropriately to ensure timely resolution
• Continuous Learning & Development: Continuously develop SAP security and authorisation knowledge through SAP Learning Hub and other training platforms, staying current with best practices, tooling, and platform changes

PROFILE

Academic background & Experience

• Educated to Degree level or equivalent with a minimum of 2 - 3 years’ hands on experience supporting SAP user access, role management, authorisations, testing, and incident resolution
• Practical experience supporting Identity and Access Management (IAM) processes and solutions and with SAP Fiori security, including Fiori catalogues, groups/spaces, tiles, launchpad configuration, and authorisation troubleshooting, is essential
• Familiarity with standard SAP functional domains and core business processes (e.g. Finance, Projects, Procurement, Sales, Manufacturing)
• Demonstrated success in performing similar ERP type roles within large and complex organizations
