Job Summary

The Global Product Solutions (GPS) Technology team supports Julius Baer’s Structured Products, Equities, Fixed Income, and Derivatives businesses by delivering robust, scalable, and compliant technology solutions. We are currently seeking a skilled FIS Front Arena (FIS Cross-Asset Trading and Risk Platform) System Engineer to join our growing technology function in Mumbai.

Operating in an agile and collaborative environment, the GPS Technology team partners with product owners, traders, risk managers, and business stakeholders to ensure the stable and efficient operation of mission-critical trading and risk management platforms. These systems are fundamental to our global front-office operations, demanding high availability, exceptional performance, and strict adherence to regulatory and internal control standards.

We are seeking a System Engineer Expert with substantial hands-on experience in configuration of Front Arena components, scripting and automation, messaging protocols and middleware integration, as well as security hardening, access controls, and audit readiness within Front Arena environments. Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues under pressure, combined with rigorous attention to quality and operational controls, is essential. The ideal candidate is self-driven, technically thorough, and capable of working independently within a high-pressure, regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

KEY FEATURES and accountabilities

Business Management

• Serve as a key member of the GPS Agile Release Train; actively participate in Program Increment (PI) planning and regular agile ceremonies within a global setup

• Customize and enhance the Front Arena environment to ensure seamless integration

• Design, build, test, and deploy new interfaces and services to strengthen our trading ecosystem

• Supervise and ensure business-critical services and features are available and functioning correctly in production, with strong emphasis on high availability and minimal downtime

• Schedule End-of-Day (EOD) processes and oversee their timely and accurate completion

• Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting assistance to Global GPS Application Support teams and the global user base (Level 2 and 3)

• Participate in on-call duties for production support, ensuring rapid and effective resolution of issues to minimize impact on business operations

Change Management

• Installation, configuration, and administration of Front Arena message broker and price feed services (AMBA/TAB/TAPS/APH).

• Design and develop custom reports using ACM (Arena Class Model) and SQL

• Scripting and automation using Python and shell scripts. Migration of existing jobs to the bank’s internal orchestration platform AWA (Automic Workflow Automation)

• Implementation of data feeds to our internal messaging platform (MQ/Kafka)

• Security hardening, access controls, and audit readiness within Front Arena environments

• Proactively drive continuous platform improvement by identifying optimization opportunities and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and mitigate risk

• Support change management processes and contribute to release rollout planning

Regulatory Responsibilities & Risk Management

• Demonstrate appropriate values and behaviors, including but not limited to standards of honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, sound risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Skill Requirements

Professional and Technical

• 3+ years must have hands-on experience with Front Arena environment engineering and integration

• Demonstrated experience in developing reports using ADFL/ACM

• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python), solid understanding of databases, SQL queries, database technologies (MS-SQL), and Microsoft Windows operating system.

• Experienced with messaging systems (e.g. MQ, Kafka) and task automation AWA

• Familar with migration of TTT files to python based TAB setup

• Very good understanding of authentication protocols (Kerberos)

• Basic knowledge of capital markets and trading, particularly in structured products and equity derivatives. Understanding of the lifecycle management of financial products (e.g. Cash Flows, Corporate Actions, Expiries)

• Experience working with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Bitbucket, Git, etc.)

Personal and Social

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, or a related field
• Outstanding programming and financial engineering qualification
• Able to work autonomously in a global team setup to take on initiative with a positive attitude.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
