Senior Quantitative Analytics Specialist - Data Strat

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Quantitative Analytics Specialist.

In this role, you will:

• Use advanced statistical theories and techniques to quantify, analyze, and manage market-related opportunities and risks.
• Develop actionable insights for traders by researching and applying a variety of data strategies.
• Develop end-to-end machine learning workflows and models, demonstrating expertise in designing, building, maintaining, and scaling machine learning solutions.
• Develop machine learning models and demonstrate expertise in building models or leveraging established industry-standard models.
• Design and implement Agentic AI workflows to drive automation and enhance analytical frameworks.
• Take ownership of the full project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, and stakeholder delivery.
• Participate in discussions related to analytical strategies, modeling approaches, and forecasting methodologies.
• Consistently deliver high-quality software solutions within an Agile development environment.
• Develop an understanding of data technologies, modern data pipelines, interactive interface development, and the deployment of ML-based applications.

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of Quantitative Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, or computer science

Desired Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of statistical concepts such as z-scores, correlation matrices, and related analytical techniques.
• Ability to prototype, design, and develop solutions to solve business challenges.
• Excellent knowledge of and hands-on experience with Python programming.
• Ability to perform complex analytical activities and contribute to the design of data-driven solutions.
• Ability to take initiative, identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities, and implement effective solutions using Python and Java.
• Ability to lead process improvement initiatives that optimize operational effectiveness and efficiency.
• Provide analytical support for evaluating, implementing, monitoring, and executing data strategy initiatives and solutions.
• Work effectively across teams and organizational levels, demonstrating flexibility, collaboration, adaptability, respect, and strong partnership skills.

Job Expectations:

• Apply quantitative and technology-driven techniques to solve complex business problems.
• Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience in a similar role, with primary expertise in Python and working knowledge of Java.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to draw meaningful conclusions and translate findings into actionable insights.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Python and Java, with experience analyzing, interpreting, and manipulating large datasets using Python libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, and Scikit-learn, as well as Java concepts including Lambda Expressions, Functional Interfaces, and Immutability.
• Participate in complex software design and development activities within an Agile environment.
• Ability to drive projects from inception through successful delivery.
• Experience developing enterprise-scale software platforms and applications.
• Consistently meet deliverables while adhering to organizational policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrate strong hands-on coding experience and proficiency with GitHub-based development workflows.
• Experience in quantitative analytics or financial services, or a strong willingness to learn these domains.
• Ability to develop and debug complex Python applications using advanced object-oriented programming concepts, including classes, generators, decorators, exception handling, logging, and modular design.
• Experience performing complex data transformation and wrangling using Pandas and NumPy, including grouping, aggregation, pivoting, and handling missing or invalid values.
• Experience with visualization libraries such as Matplotlib, Plotly, and Seaborn, with the ability to analyze and interpret data using line charts, scatter plots, heatmaps, and other visualizations.
• Ability to apply advanced analytical methodologies and quantitative techniques to solve business problems.
• Experience working with datasets across multiple data sources, including remote file servers, relational databases, and distributed systems such as NoSQL databases, with the ability to analyze and compare data across diverse platforms.
• Experience with enterprise-grade CI/CD tools and platforms, including Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience building dashboards and analytical applications using React.js, Django, Flask, Streamlit, or Dash.
• Ability to debug and support enterprise-level Java Spring Boot (or similar) applications and microservices.
