What does the team work on?

Our team's mission is to build cutting-edge advertising technology to support and help grow sustainable advertising business. The team owns server technologies, reporting infrastructure, data, cloud services, and test engineering for the advertising platforms within Roku. We also work closely with internal and external customers to help them achieve their advertising goals.

What is the role?

We are looking for an experienced manager to help grow the team, manage priorities, and communicate with stakeholders in an effective way. The role requires excellent communication skills in addition to a strong engineering background. The ideal candidate will have endless curiosity and can pair a global mindset with locally relevant execution. You should be a gritty problem solver and self-starter who can drive programs with the product and commercial teams within Roku and across external strategic partner organizations. The successful candidate will display a balance of hard and soft skills, including the ability to respond quickly to changing business needs.

your AI skills if you have built fluency across the agentic engineering toolchain — coding harnesses like Claude Code or Cursor, MCP servers, custom skills, or agent frameworks. And you can describe projects where you shipped real work with these tools. You know how to drive an agent, verify its output, and ramp on an unfamiliar codebase with an agent helping you.

What are the responsibilities of the role?

• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Build scalable, resilient, and performant distributed systems for data processing, reporting and analytics

• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Work across engineering teams, data science, and product management to influence the direction of work and architecture

• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Communicate with internal stakeholders to inform and influence requirements and delivery

• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Take complete ownership of impactful initiatives and make pragmatic technical decisions

• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Stakeholder management, developing good understanding of advertising business needs, building domain knowledge to understand systems and data better

What experience would help someone be successful in this role at Roku?

• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">15+ years engineering experience working with modern big data technologies: Spark, Airflow, Scala, Java python, relational databases and related technologies

• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">6+ years' experience leading technical teams and large-scale data processing systems

• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Experience building, growing and managing teams

• p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Subject matter expertise in advertising and data processing
