- Responsibilities:
- Maintain, support, and enhance existing enterprise Java applications in a complex production environment.
- Analyze and troubleshoot application, database, and performance issues across multiple systems and environments.
- Develop scalable and maintainable solutions using Java, Hibernate, and SQL.
- Optimize application performance, database interactions, and system reliability.
- Support deployment, release management, and production support activities.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Participate in modernization, cloud transformation, and process improvement initiatives.
- Mentor team members and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Mandatory Skills Description:
- 10-15+ years of software development experience in large-scale enterprise environments
- Strong Java development experience with deep understanding of multithreading, collections, concurrency, and performance optimisation
- Advanced SQL skills with experience working on complex data models and production systems
- Proven, hands-on Hibernate expertise, including design, troubleshooting, performance tuning and real-world implementation
- Ability to independently analyse, maintain and enhance existing legacy applications and codebases
- Extensive experience working on large, business-critical enterprise applications
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across complex distributed systems
- Experience into existing applications and becoming productive with minimal ramp-up time
- Hands-on experience with application deployment processes and environment management
- Familiarity with access management, operational processes, and production support activities
- Ability to understand and navigate legacy code and architecture without extensive documentation
- Demonstrated track record of delivering in mature environments where understanding the existing estate is as important as developing new functionality
- Nice-to-Have Skills Description:
- Experience with Python development
