Senior Engineering Manager, Cashalo

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager, Cashalo based in India.

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead an established, high-performing engineering team supporting a regional financial technology business. You will serve as a strategic technical partner to the local General Manager while guiding an 11–12 person backend and mobile engineering organization. The role focuses on solving ambiguous, multi-stakeholder business and product challenges that require sustained technical and organizational leadership. You will balance proven engineering and product practices with the specific needs of the local market. This position is ideal for a product-minded engineering leader who can connect technical strategy with business outcomes. You will also help teams adopt modern AI-assisted and agentic workflows while maintaining strong engineering judgment and delivery standards.

Accountabilities:

• Serve as the functional engineering leader for the regional business and act as a close strategic advisor to the local General Manager.

• Lead and develop an established 11–12 person backend and mobile engineering team while maintaining and strengthening its high-performance culture.

• Own ambiguous, complex, and multi-stakeholder business problems from initial investigation through alignment, execution, and resolution.

• Coordinate and interpret multiple concurrent, interdependent experiments, helping teams identify root causes and translate findings into effective solutions.

• Introduce proven engineering and product patterns from other markets while adapting approaches to regional requirements and customer needs.

• Partner closely with product and business stakeholders to ensure technology decisions support meaningful customer and business outcomes.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship while enabling Staff+ Engineers and other senior team members to make strong technical decisions.

• Promote effective use of AI-assisted development and agentic workflows in day-to-day engineering practices.

• Travel to the Philippines approximately per quarter to support team collaboration and business priorities.

• Requirements:

• Deep, demonstrated experience building, leading, and developing high-performing engineering teams.

• Strong product-first mindset, with the ability to improve and scale existing technology rather than defaulting to large-scale rebuilds.

• Proven ability to take broad, ambiguous problems, identify root causes, align multiple stakeholders, and drive solutions through to completion.

• Experience working effectively in startup, high-growth, or resource-conscious environments where adaptability and ownership are essential.

• Strong technical background and ability to engage in substantive technical discussions with Staff+ Engineers, despite being removed from day-to-day individual contributor engineering work.

• Experience operating across multiple teams, functions, or markets and balancing established patterns with local business requirements.

• Practical experience incorporating AI into engineering workflows, including building and using AI agents as part of everyday development.

• Strong communication, collaboration, coaching, and stakeholder-management skills.

• High ownership, resilience, curiosity, and a continuous-improvement mindset.

• Willingness to travel internationally approximately 4–6 times per year.
