Senior Engineer - Software Testing

About the Role

In this role, you will work closely with software developers, product owners, domain experts, and DevOps engineers to validate end-to-end functionality across microservices, web applications, industrial integrations, real-time data pipelines, and cloud-native environments.

You will play a key role in establishing quality standards, automating testing activities, and ensuring that PumpTest releases meet business, compliance, performance, and reliability expectations before deployment to global manufacturing sites.

Key Responsibilities

Test Design & Execution

• Design, develop, and execute functional, integration, system, and regression test scenarios.
• Validate business processes related to pump testing, data acquisition, calculations, and reporting.
• Verify end-to-end workflows across frontend, backend, database, and integration components.
• Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.

API & Microservices Testing

• Validate REST APIs and event-driven services.
• Test data flow across distributed microservices.
• Verify system interactions through Kafka-based integrations and message processing.

Test Automation

• Design and maintain automated test frameworks.
• Develop automated regression test suites.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Improve test coverage and reduce manual testing effort.

Quality Assurance & Defect Management

• Identify, analyze, document, and track software defects.
• Collaborate with development teams to investigate root causes and verify fixes.
• Participate in sprint activities, release readiness reviews, and quality gates.
• Support UAT and production validation activities.

Performance & Reliability Testing

• Validate application reliability and scalability.
• Execute performance and load testing where required.
• Support non-functional testing activities including security, resilience, and failover validation.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Participate in Agile ceremonies and product discussions.
• Contribute to test strategies, quality processes, and testing standards.
• Mentor junior test engineers and promote quality-first engineering practices.

Required Technical Skills

Testing & Quality Assurance

• 5+ years of experience in Software Testing / Quality Engineering.
• Strong understanding of ISTQB testing principles and methodologies.
• Experience in Functional, System, Integration, Regression, and UAT testing.
• Strong knowledge of test design techniques and defect lifecycle management.

Automation

• Experience with test automation tools such as:- Robot Framework

• Selenium

• Playwright

• Cypress

• Experience developing and maintaining automated test suites.

API & Integration Testing

• Experience with:- REST APIs

• Postman

• Swagger/OpenAPI

• Understanding of event-driven architectures.

Agile & Test Management

• Experience with:- Jira
• Xray / Zephyr / TestRail
• GitLab

Databases

• Knowledge of SQL and database validation.
• Experience working with PostgreSQL or similar databases.

Technical Understanding

• Understanding of:- Microservices architecture
• Kafka messaging
• Cloud-native applications
• CI/CD concepts
• Containerized environments
