About the Role

We're looking for a

Senior Data Engineer

to build and own our Azure-based data platform — the pipelines, the warehouse, and above all, the

master data quality layer

that turns messy, multi-system data into trusted, deduplicated golden records.

This is an upstream engineering role. If you care more about data quality and integration than dashboards, this is built for you.

• MBB Background: Candidates must come from the data & analytics practice of a top-tier strategy consultancy — McKinsey / QuantumBlack, BCG / BCG X, or Bain / Bain Advanced Analytics — or an equivalent premium data consultancy. We're looking for people who've built real data platforms under high client-delivery standards, not just advised on them.

What You'll Do

• Design and build robust

ETL/ELT pipelines

on Azure (Azure SQL, Data Factory / Fabric pipelines, Python).

• Own

Master Data Management

as a first-class discipline: data cleansing, deduplication, entity resolution, fuzzy matching, golden record creation, and survivorship rules — starting with our customer and product masters.

• Integrate data across core enterprise systems:

ERP, CRM, PIM, warehouse management, and eCommerce platforms.

• Design and maintain

dimensional data models

and modern data warehouse architecture.

• Build data governance foundations: validation frameworks, quality monitoring, lineage, and documentation.

What You Bring

5+ years

in Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering with real pipeline ownership (not just contributing to someone else's).

• Advanced

SQL

and strong

Python

for data workflows.

Azure data platform

experience (Azure SQL, ADF/Fabric) — or equivalent cloud depth with a credible ability to ramp Azure fast.

• Hands-on

master data experience

— you can walk through, step by step, how you deduplicated and consolidated a real messy dataset.

• Experience integrating

ERP/CRM/operational systems

— any major ERP ecosystem counts (Dynamics/Business Central, SAP, Odoo, NetSuite, or similar). What matters is that you've worked with ERP data models before.

• Able to work

German-aligned business hours (CET)

for close collaboration with the core team.

MBB Background

— McKinsey (QuantumBlack), BCG (BCG X), or Bain (Bain Advanced Analytics), or equivalent top-tier consultancy.

• Nice to have: working knowledge of Power BI — this is not a reporting role, so it's a bonus, not a requirement.

You won't be maintaining someone else's pipeline — you'll be the person who decides what "trusted data" means for the business and builds the system that delivers it. High ownership, high visibility, direct impact on every downstream system that touches customer and product data.
