• Position Summary: As a Senior Backend Engineer at Blossom, you will take a pivotal role in scaling our services to handle tenfold user growth within an aggressive timeline. You will architect and implement backend solutions that ensure scalability, performance, and reliability. This role demands a proactive approach to system expansion, optimization, and strategic foresight in infrastructure planning.

• Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and scaling of high-volume, low-latency backend services to support our growing user base and data throughput.
• Own end-to-end delivery of critical backend initiatives - from design and implementation to production rollout and monitoring.
• Architect robust, scalable systems within our event-driven microservices architecture on AWS serverless (Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, API Gateway).
• Ensure system reliability, efficiency, and redundancy, including disaster recovery strategies and data integrity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align backend features with user demands and overall business goals.
• Mentor junior developers and lead by example in coding, process refinement, and architectural decisions.
• Optimize existing systems for maximum speed and scalability through rigorous testing and profiling.
• Build with security best practices and partner with our DevSecOps lead on reviews and compliance.

• Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in backend development, with a proven track record in scalable systems.
• Expertise in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go.
• Extensive experience with AWS serverless architectures (Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS/event-driven patterns).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Strong database management skills with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior experience with financial services applications or social networking platforms will be a significant plus.
