• Summary of Job Duties:

The Security Officer works under the direct supervision of the Shift Sergeant or Administrative Sergeant. This position is responsible for conducting interior patrols, providing public assistance, monitoring campus facilities, and supporting a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, students, faculty, and staff.##

• Qualifications:

• High School Diploma / GED.

• At least 19 years of age.

• Current and Valid driver's license.

• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to walk a minimum of 8 to 12 miles in an 8-to-12-hour shift.

• Ability to climb stairwells.

• Ability to maintain and communicate a good rapport with the campus population.

• Additional Information: Responsibilities:

• Conducts routine interior patrols of assigned buildings and campus areas to help maintain a safe and secure environment.

• Monitors entrances, hallways, stairwells, parking areas, and other designated locations for suspicious activity or safety concerns.

• Provides directions, escorts, and general assistance to patients, visitors, students, faculty, and staff.

• Responds promptly to calls for service, alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations.

• Reports safety hazards, security concerns, suspicious activity, and policy violations to the appropriate personnel.

• Documents incidents and daily activities accurately and completes required reports.

• Assists with access control, including securing and unlocking designated buildings and areas.

• Supports law enforcement officers and emergency personnel as directed.

• Maintains professional and courteous communication with members of the campus community.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
