Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience.

• Diploma or degree-level education, preferably in Engineering or another relevant field.

• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

• Good understanding of Normet products, services, customers and/or sales processes.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

• A customer-oriented and commercially minded approach.

• Ability to prioritize multiple RFQ’s (Request for Quotation) and work effectively against deadlines.

• Confidence in working cross-functionally with sales and other internal stakeholders.

• A proactive approach to communication, problem-solving, and developing technical knowledge.

• Industry: Mining, Tunneling, or Construction.

Objective of the Role

The Quotation Engineer (Consultant) supports sales areas in preparing complex, high-quality and customer-centric quotations and helps ensure an effective customer experience throughout the sales process—from receipt of the RFQ (Request for Quotation) through to receipt of the purchase order.

The role requires close collaboration with sales teams and customers, combining technical understanding, commercial awareness, accuracy, and proactive communication to ensure quotations are delivered according to agreed timelines.

Job Responsibility / KRA

Monitor

incoming RFQs and actively manage the quotation work queue.

Prepare

accurate, high-quality, and customer-focused quotations for complex services opportunities.

Submit

quotations according to agreed target timelines and priorities.

Maintain

accurate and up-to-date quotation and opportunity information in relevant sales systems.

Communicate

proactively with customers and sales teams regarding technical clarifications, requirements, and recommendations.

Manage

expectations regarding quotation scope and delivery timelines.

Provide

recommendations to support quote / no-quote decisions.

Develop

and maintain strong knowledge of the Normet Services portfolio.

Build

expertise and knowledge of the assigned sales area and customer requirements.

Support

continuous improvement of quotation quality, responsiveness and customer service.

Competencies (which are required for performing the above tasks)

Technical & Product Knowledge

— Ability to understand engineering specifications, Normet equipment/products, customer requirements, configurations and modifications, and translate these into technically correct quotations. Normet’s comparable engineering roles emphasize technical understanding of equipment and customer solutions.

Commercial & Quotation Acumen

— Strong ability to develop accurate quotations covering pricing, costs, availability, delivery times and commercial documentation. A Normet sales-support position specifically identifies quotation preparation and commercial documentation as required competencies, while another quotation-support role includes defining sales prices, availability and delivery times.

Customer Focus & Communication

— Ability to understand customer needs, communicate technical/commercial information clearly, and collaborate effectively with sales teams and customers. This fits strongly with Normet’s stated emphasis on creating customer impact and delivering maximum customer value.

Cross-functional Coordination & Execution

— Ability to coordinate with Engineering, Sales, Supply Chain, Production, Procurement and Service, manage multiple quotation requests, prioritize deadlines, and ensure accurate/timely responses.
