QA Automation Engineer

About the Role

As a QA Automation Engineer, you will develop and execute automated test scripts, identify defects, and ensure software quality. You’ll collaborate with developers and product teams to enhance test coverage and maintain automation frameworks. This role is ideal for someone passionate about automation testing and delivering high-quality applications in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Selenium, Cypress, Appium, or TestNG. Design and implement test cases based on functional and technical requirements. Perform functional, regression, smoke, and API testing using tools like Postman or RestAssured. Identify, document, and track defects using tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps and collaborate with developers to resolve issues. Conduct database testing using SQL queries to validate backend data integrity. Ensure automation test scripts are up-to-date with changing application functionalities. Work closely with development teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to ensure continuous quality improvement. Participate in sprint meetings, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to provide updates on testing progress. Provide test reports and metrics to stakeholders.

Requirements

Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology. 2+ years of

experience

in automation QA testing. Strong knowledge of Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Appium, or any other automation tools. Hands-on

experience

with programming/scripting languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#).

Experience

in API testing using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or SoapUI. Knowledge of test automation frameworks (Hybrid, Data-driven, Keyword-driven, or BDD using Cucumber). Good understanding of Agile methodologies and working in Scrum teams.

Experience

with version control systems (Git, Bit-bucket). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Nice to Have (Preferred but Not Mandatory):

Experience

with performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner. Knowledge of cloud-based testing platforms like BrowserStack or Saucelabs. ISTQB or any other QA certification.
