As part of US Employee Relations Compliance, this role supports employment eligibility and workforce compliance across key stages of an employee's journey. Responsibilities include I-9 verification, post-hire work authorization reverification, and annual work-hour monitoring for Per Diem, Temporary, and Casual employees. Daily work also includes responding to routine employee inquiries, maintaining accurate case records, preparing stakeholder reports, and supporting audits and data reviews. Success requires clear communication, sound judgment, strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills, and consistent handling of confidential, time-sensitive work.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Support new hires with timely completion of I-9 verification within 3 days of their start date
• Complete post-hire work authorization reverifications and monitor upcoming expiration dates
• Monitor annual work hours for Per Diem, Temporary, and Casual employees, and flag potential threshold risks early
• Adhere to I-9 requirements established by USCIS, DHS, and Optum or UnitedHealth Group
• Maintain accurate case data in Excel, including daily tracking of I-9, Photo Match, and Case Incomplete status
• Process personal information updates, including name, date of birth, and Social Security information, through email or ServiceNow
• Respond to routine HR inquiries related to benefits, policies, and procedures, and route payroll and leave requests to the appropriate team
• Prepare stakeholder reports and support audits, data requests, and on-site review needs
• Escalate cases based on complexity and potential legal or business risk
• Partner with HR teams to update knowledge articles and review standard operating procedures
• Recommend process improvements based on current workflows and employee feedback
• Support testing and rollout activities for new technology solutions
• Follow company policies and directives, including changes to work location, team, shift, or work arrangement
• Cross Segment Support:
  • When opportunities and capacity allow, take on tasks or support other businesses to broaden experience and contribute across segments
  • Use available cross-segment opportunities to build skills through practical experience and self-directed learning
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
• Experience in HR compliance, I-9, or employment verification
• Working knowledge of US employment eligibility and workforce tracking rules
• Solid Excel skills for case and hour tracking, plus general Microsoft Office proficiency
• Proven openness to learning and applying AI and automation tools to improve compliance and reporting work
• Proven clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to guide managers and HR partners
• Proven solid attention to detail and sound judgment when handling confidential data
• Proven ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage case volume independently

Preferred Qualification:

• MBA in HR or a related field
