The shop operations manager is responsible for the management and integration of shop activities in line with ISO:9001 & ISO:19443 along SQDC approach with to ensure quality products are delivered as required by the business. In addition they are knowledgeable on current manufacturing technologies, evaluate those technologies for the business. Demonstrate appropriate leadership behaviors to guide the team.
- Drive and coordinate the execution with (SQDC)Zero deviation in Safety and Quality.
- Ensure alignment of different stakeholders to achieve OTD & shop Utilization.
- Demonstrate appropriate leadership behavior to guide the team and standard work.
- Drive nuclear safety culture awareness in shop floor.
- Perform the daily operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline, ensure maximum efficiency and productivity as well as minimization of delays.
- Leads and coaches team members in a positive manner to maximize their potential and their contributions to key performance goals for the company.
- Assists in production scheduling to ensure optimal utilization of equipment and people for best possible results
- Create awareness among team to raise stop work/Quality Concern on small deviations
- Closely work with Process engineer for any improvement on current manufacturing process/new upcoming projects
- Identify training need of the team based on the skill assessment and new project requirement.
- Control, Organize, monitor production operations as per plan, implement corrective action as necessary. Make recovery plan for delays, implement, and ensure targets agreed are achieved
- Ensure correct allocation of resources to make the Lean concepts deployment a success, make problems visible, and allow problem solving to take place.
- Lead and guide the team to develop & execute objectives for self & others with alignment to short-term & long-term business goals of the organization.
- Mobilize support and new development whenever needed
- Responsible for EHS & 5S in the respective area of the shop
- Responsible for execution cost (estimate Vs actual)
- Active participation in FMEA meetings and ensure all relevant risks are identified and mitigated before execution of process
- Identify training need of the team based on the skill assessment and new project requirement.
- Basic Qualifications(requirements):
- Degree in Mechanical engineering
- MBA Operations (Preferable)
- Min 15 year experience in Machine shop and Assembly Shop
- Well convergent with SAP/Microsoft Office tools
- Demonstrated integrity – accept and adhere to high ethical, moral, and personal values in decisions, communications, and actions when dealing with others
- Lean Mindset and understanding of lean tool. (VSM, 5S, Inventory Management)
- Resolves internal issues quickly to meet customer expectations
