Global Mobility Services (GMS) - Project Manager Job Description

Position Summary/Purpose

KPMG’s People Services practice is a multi-disciplined group providing tax compliance and advisory services. The Global Mobility Services (GMS) group supports international assignment and business traveler programs. The Project Manager will lead delivery of technology and business transformation initiatives, ensuring successful execution of product enhancements, client implementations, stakeholder engagement, and operational excellence across the GMS technology landscape.

KPMG GMS is a fast-growing area serving global clients through technology-enabled mobility solutions. Project Managers play a critical role in driving strategic initiatives, managing cross-functional teams, delivering client commitments, and supporting innovation across GMS products and platforms.

The Role

We are looking for a Project Manager with 8-12 years of experience to lead complex projects, coordinate global stakeholders, manage resources, budgets, timelines, risks, and ensure successful delivery of business and technology solutions. The candidate will work closely with product owners, business analysts, developers, testing teams, and leadership.

Responsibilities & Deliverables

• Lead end-to-end project delivery across multiple workstreams and stakeholders.

• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, and resource allocations.

• Drive project governance, status reporting, risk management, and escalation processes.

• Partner with business, product, and technology teams to define priorities and delivery roadmaps.

• Ensure alignment between business objectives and technology solutions.

• Facilitate requirements discussions, planning sessions, sprint reviews, and steering committee meetings.

• Track dependencies and proactively resolve project issues and blockers.

• Manage stakeholder communications and expectations across global teams.

• Ensure quality delivery through oversight of testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.

• Mentor team members and support capability development within the organization.

• Maintain project documentation and ensure compliance with organizational standards.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

• 8-12 years of project management experience in technology or business transformation programs.

• Strong experience delivering projects using Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.

• Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills.

• Excellent planning, organization, and prioritization capabilities.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Experience managing project budgets, forecasts, risks, and resource plans.

• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a global environment.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

• Fluent English communication and experience working with international teams.

• Ability to influence without direct authority and drive outcomes through collaboration.

Preferred Skills

• PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum Master or equivalent certification.

• Experience with Global Mobility, Tax Technology, HR Technology, or Travel Compliance solutions.

• Knowledge of Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Power BI, and Microsoft Project.

• Experience managing large-scale client implementations.

• Analysing the new requirements from our clients and translating into functional specifications for the product developers 

• Reviewing the acceptance tests associated with the acceptance criteria - Evolving the details of the user stories through conversations with the developers 

• Functional review of the product after each iteration

• Attending iteration retrospectives to provide feedback and improve the development process 

• Becomes very familiar with the products and applications comprising the assigned line of business’ technology landscape. 

• Supports business requirements and design (including mock-ups), assists in developing test plans, creation and maintenance of configuration documentation, operational procedures and guidelines, identifying and documenting issues, recommending resolutions.

• Takes confirmed Business Requirements and configures software application (workflows and emails) using JSON format

• Collaborates with team members to create detailed functional and/or technical specifications. 

• Uses development specifications to establish traceability from requirements to test cases. 

• Ensures Customer satisfaction through promptness in responding to calls, emails for assistance, queries. 

• Establishes effective working relationships within the project team 

• Timely and effectively communication within project to manage risk and escalations. 

• He/she is also a business professional who fully understands both business and information technology.

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Maths, Computer Science or I.T. Related degree

• 3-7 years of business systems analysis or relevant experience

• Strong organizational skills, autonomous, self-motivated, curious and open-minded. 

• Experience with Agile Scrum development methodology and corresponding concepts related to user stories, acceptance criteria. 

• Technical, analytical, and development skills including the ability to provide solutions to a variety of business problems of moderate scope and complexity.
