Junior Communications Generalist

Role

Overview

We are looking for a
motivated, adaptable, and collaborative early-career professional to join the
Communications team at YRG MERF. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role.
involving content development, social media management, basic design support,
and coordination across campaigns and communication workflows. The role is
suited for individuals who are eager to learn, take ownership of their work,
and contribute consistently to communication efforts.

You will work
closely with the Communications Lead and team members to support day-to-day
deliverables across digital platforms, podcasts, and campaigns. While the role
is execution-heavy, it offers strong learning exposure across public health
communication, including storytelling, content development, and campaign execution.
The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of content and digital
platforms, an eye for detail, and the ability to follow through on tasks,
manage multiple responsibilities, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
     
This role is best suited for someone at the beginning of their career who is
looking to build practical skills in communications within a fast-paced,
purpose-driven organization working across HIV, TB, and broader public
health and social development areas.

Key

Responsibilities

Content

Development & Writing

• Assist
  in researching, writing, editing, and proofreading content for social media and
  campaigns

• Adapt
  content into multiple formats such as captions, posts, and basic scripts

Social

Media Management

• Support
  day-to-day management of social media platforms

• Schedule
  and publish posts as per content calendar

• Maintain
  trackers for posts and campaigns

Coordination

& Follow-ups

• Coordinate
  with internal teams and external vendors

• Ensure
  timely follow-ups and closure of tasks

• Flag
  delays proactively and maintain accountability

Basic

Design Support

• Create
  simple creatives using Canva (only in case of urgency)

• Support
  designers with references and feedback

Video

& Podcast Support

• Assist
  in podcast and video workflows

• Support
  reel creation and coordinate with editors

Analytics

& Reporting

• Track
  basic performance metrics

• Assist
  in compiling reports and ensure data accuracy

General

Support

• Support
  communication activities across campaigns

• Ensure
  timely completion of assigned tasks.

Qualifications &

Skills
