Job Description
The Infrastructure/ DevOps Manager would play a crucial role in designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining an organization's IT infrastructure. The Infrastructure/DevOps Manager is required to maintain a reliable and efficient IT environment, and plays a critical role in supporting the organization's business operations and objectives.
Requirements
Qualifications -
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field - 7-10 years’ hands-on
experience
in IT infrastructure management and system administration. - Certifications in networking, security, cloud expertise and virtualisation would be a plus.
Key Responsibilities -
Infrastructure Design and Planning: Collaborating with other teams, such as software developers, network engineers, and system architects, to design and plan the organization's IT infrastructure. This involves assessing current infrastructure, anticipating future needs, and proposing solutions to meet those needs. - Server and Network Management: Deploying, configuring, and managing servers, both physical and virtual, as well as network equipment like routers, switches, and firewalls. This includes ensuring high availability, performance, and security of these systems. - Cloud Computing: Working with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud to deploy and manage resources such as virtual machines, databases, and storage. - Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implementing Infrastructure as Code practices using tools to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration allowing for scalability, consistency, and version control of infrastructure components. - Security: Implementing security measures and best practices to protect the infrastructure from cyber threats including configuring firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and ensuring compliance with security policies and regulations. - Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Setting up monitoring tools to track the performance of servers, networks, and other infrastructure components. Analyzing data to identify and resolve bottlenecks or performance issues. - Backup and Disaster Recovery: Developing and maintaining backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and business continuity in case of unexpected events or failures. - Patch Management: Applying software updates, patches, and security fixes to keep the infrastructure up to date and secure. This involves testing updates in a controlled environment before deployment. - Capacity Planning: Monitoring resource utilization and planning for future capacity needs, ensuring that the infrastructure can support the organization's growth. - Documentation: Maintaining comprehensive documentation of the infrastructure's architecture, configurations, and procedures to facilitate troubleshooting and knowledge sharing among team members. - Collaboration: Collaborating with other IT teams and departments to ensure that infrastructure
