Customer is looking for experienced actuarial profiles in the Illustration Modernization initiative. The resources would analyze the existing actuarial calculation processes and part of the modernization programs. This role is for an experienced consultant with deep expertise in insurance quoting and insurance products responsible for advising business and technology stakeholders on optimized solutions that enhance quoting accuracy streamline product configuration
Responsibilities
candidate must have -
a. Actuarial skills having around 10+ years of experience.
b. Expertise building calculations in Excel spreadsheet.
c. Experience on US Life Insurance products.
d. Experience on new business and/or Illustrations .
- Lead end to end consulting engagements in the insurance domain by analyzing business objectives and translating them into robust quoting and product configuration solutions that improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Drive detailed assessments of existing insurance quoting workflows and systems to identify gaps inefficiencies and risks then recommend targeted improvements that reduce cycle time and enhance quote accuracy.
- Provide comprehensive guidance on insurance product structures rating logic underwriting rules and policy lifecycle processes to ensure that solution designs align with regulatory obligations and market expectations.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and technical teams in a hybrid work model to elicit requirements validate solution options and ensure that insurance quoting and product changes are fully understood and correctly implemented.
- Develop clear functional specifications and process maps for new or enhanced insurance products and quoting capabilities enabling implementation teams to configure systems consistently and maintain data integrity.
- Oversee configuration and testing of insurance quoting functionalities in core platforms by defining test scenarios reviewing results and ensuring that defect resolution supports high quality releases in day shift operations.
- Guide the adoption of best practices in pricing discounting and underwriting decision support within quoting workflows so that front line users can generate compliant and competitive quotes with minimal rework.
- Coordinate impact analysis for proposed changes to insurance products and quoting rules explaining downstream effects on policy administration billing and reporting so that all dependent processes remain stable and predictable.
- Provide analytical insights using key performance metrics such as quote conversion turnaround time and loss ratio and recommend data driven improvements that support the organizations strategic growth and customer centric goals.
- Support business case development for new insurance product initiatives by estimating benefits resource needs and implementation timelines to help decision makers prioritize investments that deliver societal value through improved protection offerings.
- Mentor junior consultants and analysts in the insurance domain by sharing practical knowledge on quoting standards product design and stakeholder communication thereby strengthening overall team capability and delivery consistency.
- Engage proactively with operations and customer service teams to understand pain points in daily quoting and product usage then convert these insights into actionable enhancements that reduce manual work and improve service quality.
- Ensure that all consulting activities adhere to compliance policies data privacy expectations and regulatory requirements for insurance products so that solutions protect customers interests and uphold the organizations reputation.
Qualifications
- Apply extensive experience in insurance quoting to design and refine rating structures eligibility criteria and risk assessment approaches that support accurate premium calculations and transparent customer communication.
- Utilize deep expertise in insurance products across lines of business to shape coverage options endorsements and product variants that respond to evolving customer needs and market trends.
- Leverage nine to thirteen years of professional consulting or insurance industry experience to manage complex stakeholder landscapes and deliver solutions that balance business agility with operational stability.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in analyzing process flows and system behavior in hybrid working environments enabling effective collaboration across on site and remote teams without requiring travel.
- Use advanced problem solving and communication skills to translate technical details about insurance quoting and product configuration into clear guidance for nontechnical stakeholders and decision makers.
- Apply familiarity with day shift operational constraints to propose implementation and rollout plans that minimize business disruption while ensuring thorough training and adoption for end users.
Certifications Required
Preferred certifications include insurance domain credential such as Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter or equivalent industry recognized insurance qualification.
