Functional Architect

The Travel Unit Services Engineering Division enables Amadeus' Move to Solutions strategy by delivering innovative, high-value services and customer-specific solutions that extend the Travel Unit product portfolio. Through engineering excellence, cross-functional collaboration, and scalable delivery practices, the division drives customer business outcomes, service growth, operational efficiency, and continuous innovation across airlines and the broader travel ecosystem.

Job Purpose

The person supports the Travel Unit Solution Centre Practice by spearheading change in areas such as blueprints for setting up solution centers, solution centre portfolio expansion, engagement transformation, operating model evolution, business value measurement, and expansion into new Travel Unit verticals, operating model evolution, proposal support, and expansion into new Travel Unit verticals.

The role requires broad knowledge of Travel Unit domains such as Airlines, Distribution, NDC, Airports, Digital, Offer Management, and Order Management, together with the ability to identify reusable capabilities, cross-vertical synergies, and suitnistainable customer value.

Key Responsibilities

Experience between 8-12 Years

• Spearhead change identified within the solution center practice measuring impact
• Support the definition and evolution of Solution Centre service offerings & customer value propositions.
• Contribute to the evolution of Solution Centre operating models, governance frameworks, business value measurement practices, backlog management approaches, and customer lifecycle alignment.
• contributes to RFPs, proposals, solution design, architectural vision, prototypes and innovation initiatives across multiple Travel Unit domains. Identify and promote reusable assets, common capabilities, and cross-vertical synergies that accelerate delivery and improve customer value realization.
• Facilitate workshops to analyse business challenges, capture requirements, challenge assumptions, and establish target solution visions.
• Support innovation initiatives, prototypes, and proof-of-concept activities that strengthen customer propositions and future service offerings.
• Identify cross-domain synergies, reusable capabilities, and opportunities for service expansion across Travel Unit.
• Support the transformation of existing customer engagements towards Solution Centre operating models.
• Contribute to practice assets, governance frameworks, reference architectures, and business value measurement initiatives.
• Facilitate workshops with internal and external stakeholders to align requirements, priorities, and expected business outcomes.
• Promote a customer-focused and value-driven approach to solution development and delivery.
