Financial Analyst - Software

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Financial Analyst - Software based in United States.

This role serves as a finance business partner for a growing software organization, connecting financial analysis with strategic and operational decision-making.
You will develop business cases, financial models, forecasts, and investment analyses that help leaders evaluate opportunities and allocate resources effectively.
The position combines FP&A, SaaS performance analysis, business planning, and executive reporting across multiple functional teams.
You will analyze recurring revenue, profitability, customer economics, and key operational metrics to identify trends and opportunities.
The role also provides exposure to strategic initiatives, investor communications, earnings support, Board materials, and long-range planning.
You will help improve reporting, data quality, metric governance, automation, and financial planning processes across the software business.
This is a fully remote opportunity for U.S.-based professionals, with regular working hours aligned to the Central Time Zone.

Accountabilities:

• Partner with Software, Product, Sales, Customer Success, Accounting, Investor Relations, and executive leadership to support growth, profitability, forecasting, and resource allocation decisions.

• Develop business cases and financial models for investments, pricing initiatives, strategic projects, and growth opportunities.

• Support monthly forecasting, annual planning, and long-range financial planning for the software business.

• Analyze software performance data and translate financial and operational results into actionable business insights.

• Monitor and evaluate SaaS metrics including ARR, MRR, retention, churn, customer profitability, and Rule of 40.

• Prepare executive reports, dashboards, business reviews, and presentations that clearly communicate results, key drivers, trends, and outlook.

• Compare actual performance against forecasts, plans, budgets, and business cases to identify variances and explain key drivers.

• Conduct scenario analysis, sensitivity modeling, return assessments, and other financial analyses to support strategic decisions.

• Support earnings activities, SEC reporting, Board materials, and investor communications by providing accurate insights into software performance.

• Identify opportunities to improve financial planning, reporting, analytics, data quality, metric governance, and business performance.

• Help simplify and automate recurring reporting processes and improve the efficiency of financial analysis.

• Support Tagetik and related planning and forecasting systems, including process improvements and data enhancements.

• Take ownership of assigned analytical and financial projects while exercising sound judgment and maintaining accuracy across complex datasets.

• Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.

• 3–7 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, strategic finance, business finance, or a related discipline.

• Professional experience within a SaaS or software company environment.

• Strong financial modeling, forecasting, analytical, and structured problem-solving capabilities.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and financial analysis tools.

• Ability to work with large and complex datasets while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and business relevance.

• Exceptional ability to synthesize complex financial and operational information into clear, actionable recommendations.

• Strong written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships and influence decisions across multiple functional areas.

• Strong ownership, self-motivation, organization, and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.

• Ability to exercise discretion, independent judgment, and sound business judgment when analyzing financial information.

• Ability to travel by air and ground as required and meet applicable driver eligibility requirements.

• Fluent in written and spoken English.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; immigration visa sponsorship, renewal, or extension is not available for this position.

• Experience working with SaaS metrics such as ARR, MRR, retention, churn, customer profitability, and Rule of 40.

• Experience building driver-based forecasts connected to bookings, renewals, churn, pricing, headcount, product investments, and financial outcomes.

• Experience with Tagetik planning and forecasting.

• Background in data visualization, reporting automation, enterprise planning, or analytics platforms.

• Experience supporting earnings releases, investor presentations, SEC reporting, or Board materials.

• Experience developing business cases, investment analyses, executive presentations, and benefit-tracking frameworks.

• Prior experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, transformation, or strategic finance.

• MBA, CPA, CFA, CMA, or another relevant professional certification.

$80,000–$110,000 USD
