Field Technician [ Tool Operator ILI ]

Position Summary

The general role for the Field Technician is to ensure the proper execution of field work and coordination of the field activities.

Job Functions, Responsibilities & Authorities

• • Prepare, sign and submit pigging, daily, express and other relevant reports
• Discuss equipment and tools requirements including auxiliaries, AGM's, DGPS, magnets, launching trays, spares, tool box and all other required tools for use in the field, etc.      
• Study and analyse project information document, operation manuals, pigging procedures and other project-related documents
• Establish professional contact with client’s field personnel creating friendly working relations                                                                                                         
• Execute field work in a safe, effective and efficient manner in accordance with LIN SCAN QA/QC procedures and in line with time, resource and financial planning
• Coordinate field activities between LIN SCAN team, subcontractor, client and other involved parties                                                                                 
• Perform ILI runs successfully without data loss as per POF & API standards
• Conduct sufficient cleaning runs to the established LIN SCAN cleaning criteria
• Conduct site survey and DGPs Survey in line with LIN SCAN procedures and operational requirement
• Execute all other tasks as requested by Team Leader within the assigned job role.

• Submission of daily reports

• Maintain confidentiality, integrity and safeguard LIN SCAN trade secrets

• Act in such a manner that LIN SCAN’s reputation is highly respected
• Be results-oriented; alert others timely when a task may not produce the required result for LIN SCAN’s final     product
• Follow LIN SCAN’s Process Flow Charts and interact with other departments when required
• Assure timely and accurate reporting to LIN SCAN
• Identify training requirements

• Skills/Experience: - - Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or relevant) plus 3 years of operation planning experience

• Experience in Oil and Gas sector, preferably with ILI exposure
• Computer skills in Microsoft word, excel and outlook at an intermediate level
• Fluency in English, the language of the Territory is an advantage
• Ability to travel extensively

• Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Mobility: Must be able to walk and climb to perform duties, including maneuvering within a refinery or plant environment and accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.

  • Communication: Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing, or other communication capabilities, to communicate effectively.

  • Focus and Multitasking: Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively.

  • Safety Equipment: Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection, if/where needed in manufacturing environments.

  • Personal Mobility and Reflexes: Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform office duties and travel to off-site locations when necessary.

Inspection Technologies

Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL): Detects and sizes general corrosion and metal loss anomalies, especially circumferentially oriented.

Transverse Field Inspection (TFI): Detects and sizes general corrosion and metal loss anomalies, primarily axially oriented.
