Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Engineering Executive to lead our engineering operations in Kochi, India. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of engineering maintenance, staff development, and operational efficiency while driving innovation and continuous improvement across our facilities. As an Engineering Executive, you will partner with senior leadership to develop strategic initiatives, manage complex projects, and foster a culture of excellence, safety, and collaboration within your team.
- Lead daily engineering staff briefings and coordinate work assignments in alignment with organizational objectives and operational priorities
- Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive maintenance programs for critical systems including HVAC, electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, and building infrastructure
- Supervise and mentor engineering team members, providing constructive feedback to ensure adherence to safety protocols, operational efficiency, and preventative maintenance standards
- Analyze and prepare detailed consumption reports on utilities (power, water, steam, and gas) to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize resource utilization
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure all maintenance and repair work complies with health and safety policies, contractual agreements, and quality standards
- Evaluate workflow processes and recommend strategic improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime
- Identify high-potential team members and develop targeted career advancement plans to build organizational capability
- Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching to support professional growth and skill development
- Establish and maintain rigorous standards for team professionalism, appearance, and conduct
- Design and deliver comprehensive and training programs for new employees, ensuring they understand safety protocols and operational procedures
- Develop and execute customized staff training initiatives that address evolving business needs and equip team members with essential technical skills
- Create and manage weekly staff schedules that balance anticipated business demands, budget constraints, and service excellence standards
- Communicate proactively with senior leadership regarding any service disruptions or operational challenges
- Maintain detailed documentation of all maintenance activities, equipment performance, and team metrics for analysis and reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical field; or equivalent professional certification with demonstrated expertise
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in engineering operations, maintenance management, or facilities leadership
- Trade Certificate or advanced technical qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
- Proven expertise in planning, scheduling, and managing comprehensive maintenance programs across multiple building systems
- Strong proficiency in budget management, cost analysis, and P&L responsibility
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing technical teams of varying sizes
- Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices
- Proficiency in vendor and contractor management, including negotiation and performance monitoring
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to prepare reports and present findings to senior management
- Project management capabilities with experience overseeing complex maintenance and capital improvement initiatives
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and implement effective solutions
- Proficiency in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives simultaneously
