Electrical Site Manager
Vanderlande’s Site Management Department manages the Installation and project execution of Material Handling Systems, Warehouse Automation and Parcel Sortation systems for our customers throughout North America. The increasing number of new projects and their geographical spread means the team is growing and expanding. You will report hierarchically to the Electrical Department Manager, and daily to the Sr. Site Manager and/or Construction Manager. In this position, you will be working within a Site Management project team to manage the installation of material handling automation and sortation systems. You will oversee (or more) electrical subcontractor(s) working on large and complex projects, ensuring the electrical installation is performed safely while maintaining compliance with quality standards, project specifications, and technical requirements.
You will be the primary point of contact for electrical subcontractors, providing clear and detailed communications to the internal project staff, subcontractors, and customer. Typical project length is between 6-12 months, in which you will be personally responsible for tracking electrical progress and quality, forecasting schedule adherence, maintaining redline updates, and resolving or escalating any discrepancies in electrical design, customer standards, provided drawings or other information. You are expected to be initiative-taking in reporting requirements, resolving logistical, technical, or organizational problems, and ensuring effective communication with all required parties regarding progress, out of scope work, non-conformities, and all other site related issues. This role is up to 100% travel, and it is expected to work 50 to 60 hours per week with overtime after 40 hours worked. This position includes a cost covered home leave benefit at 6-week intervals, phone, computer, as well as training opportunities relevant to the position.
Maintain electrical project budget by forecasting issues, mitigating change orders, and ensuring the electrical project team adheres to the expected hours of work throughout project lifecycles.

Maintain a high degree of safety awareness and a rigorous standard of personal and site safety.
Track and record electrical project deliverables, subcontractor performance and staffing levels, areas of improvement in project scope, schedule, cost, and design.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
5+ years of experience working with electro-mechanical equipment.
Ability to travel on short notice to address urgent project requirements.
Ability to work weekends, holidays, and potentially off-shift hours.
Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and AHJ requirements, with the ability to train others
Ability to read, understand, red line, and challenge electrical layout drawings, standards, and schematics.
Ability to troubleshoot complex control and motor wiring circuit problems.
Exhibits strong leadership skills and a collaborative mentality.
Previous experience in installation of material handling equipment.
Identify and analyze (potential) problems / risks and opportunities.
Initiates rapid and adequate corrective and preventive actions.
Ensure the Vanderlande processes within project scope.
Initiates improvements of the site management process.
Perform quality checks on installation and these processes.
Detailed knowledge and experience in a related technical or specialty area.
Must have a valid driver’s license and passport.
Has (or is willing to obtain) OSHA 30 certification within the last 3 years.
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft office suite software.
Electrical licensing or certification in or more state.

Preferred Qualification, Education, and Experience:
Current and valid electrical journeyman’s license in or more state.
5-7 years of material handling or automation industry experience.
Experience managing large and dynamic material handling projects.
Experience with AGVS, AS/RS, or conveyors.
Position Type:
This is a full-time position with an expectation to work an average of 50 to 60 hours per week. Must be willing to work up to 7 days a week with paid overtime after 40 hours.
This position requires up to 100% travel.

Working in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold, and wind) while wearing proper PPE.
Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and high noise levels.
Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves, and safety toed work boots with a minimum 6” ankle.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position, eligible to receive an hourly rate and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. The salary range listed represents the maximum and minimum starting base pay for this position as of the time of posting. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate-dependent
