Developer (Android)

Location: Hyderabad,Andhra Pradesh,India

As a senior developer you will be expected to take responsibility for heading the development of both client and internal projects. You will be expected to work with team of developers in play a key role in delivering projects from inception to completion.

Client Engagement

Engaging with client to explore requirements and define scope of work (Requirements Workshops).

Documenting customer requirements (UX / Story Planning).

Determining risk and feasibility and cost of solutions to match project budgets and meet clients requirements

Defining technical specifications and associated documentation.

Development and Management

Lead development team and establish allocatable work / components for delivery.

Lead sprint planning, sprint reviews and stand ups and report in to manager.

Responsible for making decision during development on direction of system when confronted by change to scope.

Day to day communication of project and delivery status.

Quality

Help establish and ensure adherence to quality guidelines.

Ensure management of sprints and releases through defined statement of process.

Provide development support to juniors.

Delivery

Responsible for defining a delivery plan, sprint plan and release schedule.

Responsible for working with client partner to define key points within delivery plan where client input / feedback is required.

Expected to conduct day to day activities with limited guidance and support from your manage

As a senior Android developer, we expect you to have a proven track record of building outstanding apps (publicly available in the Google Play Store).

• In order to ensure the highest quality, we require:
• 3+ years of experience developing on Android;
• Excellent understanding of Java and lower level programming concepts such as Multithreading and Networking & possible OpenGL;
• Feel at ease with most programming concepts of Android, including Data Storage, Location, Sensors and Video Capture. The Android User Interface has no secrets for you;
• 5+ years of experience developing in a complex, compiled OO language (Objective-C, C++, Java);
• Excellent understanding of programming patterns and ability to architect elegant solutions to complex problems using abstract classes;
• Flexibility to deal with a rapidly changing environment;
• Passion for quality and maintainability of code.

Preferably you also have

• Good experience in writing unit tests;
• Experience with Mercurial and Jira.

We are looking for candidates with proven portfolio and experience of delivering high quality apps on the Google Play or another App Store or having worked in a Senior role in an established mobile or software company.
