# Design Lead ## ## Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled **Design Lead** to take ownership of all aspects of design within a dynamic, technically strong team. The ideal candidate will be a resourceful, detail-oriented professional with a strong portfolio and credible references from founders. This role is pivotal in shaping the visual and user experience strategy, primarily within fintech, founder-led, or design-first companies such as Cred and similar organizations. ## Responsibilities - Own and oversee the entire design process, from conceptualization to execution, ensuring high-quality deliverables. - Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and leadership teams to align design strategies with business goals. - Lead and mentor a team of designers, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and attention to detail. - Develop and maintain a cohesive visual language and design system across all products and platforms. - Present and communicate design concepts effectively to stakeholders, including founders and executive teams. - Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate best practices to keep the company's design standards ahead of the curve. ## Qualifications - Approximately **5 years of experience** in design, preferably at a **design-first company**. - A **strong portfolio** demonstrating a range of high-quality design work. - Proven experience working in **fintech**, **founder-led**, or **technology-driven companies** such as Cred. - Excellent **visual, interaction, and user experience design skills**. - Strong **communication and presentation skills**. - Ability to work independently and as part of a **collaborative, cross-functional team**. - Educational qualifications: **Bachelor’s degree** in Design, Visual Arts, Human-Computer Interaction, or related fields. ## Preferred Skills - Experience with **design systems** and **UI/UX best practices**. - Proficiency in design tools such as **Figma**, **Sketch**, **Adobe Creative Suite**. - Knowledge of **front-end development** fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus. - Experience leading **remote or distributed teams**. - Strong **problem-solving skills** and a **creative mindset**. ## Experience - Around **5 years** of professional experience in **design roles**. - Prior experience in **fintech**, **founder-led startups**, or **design-centric organizations** is highly preferred.
