House of Spices (India) is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, maintain, and optimize data solutions that support reporting, analytics, and data-driven decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in T-SQL, Azure Data Services, data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL/ELT development. This role will work closely with BI developers, IT teams, and business stakeholders to develop reliable, scalable, and well-documented data pipelines and data models. The Data Engineer will help improve data quality, performance, and availability while supporting enterprise reporting needs, including data from Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Business Central and other business systems.

Communicates technical information clearly and professionally to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Handles business, customer, financial, and operational data responsibly while following confidentiality, security, and compliance expectations.

Investigates data issues, identifies root causes, and applies practical solutions to support accurate reporting and reliable data processing.

Reviews data pipelines, queries, transformations, and outputs carefully to reduce errors and improve data accuracy.

Maintains a strong focus on validation, reconciliation, consistency, completeness, and trustworthiness of data.

Monitors, diagnoses, and resolves issues related to data pipelines, SQL queries, performance, and data availability.
8.
Learns new tools, technologies, business processes, and data sources as needed to support changing business and reporting needs.
This position is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. The employee may be expected to share knowledge, document best practices, and support knowledge-transfer sessions for team members and business users as needed.
This job operates primarily in a remote professional work environment. The employee is expected to maintain a reliable internet connection, use company-approved collaboration and communication tools, and work effectively with teams across India and U.S. business hours. Based on business requirements, the employee may be required to visit the Mumbai office for corporate meetings approximately to four times per month. This role routinely uses standard technology and office equipment such as laptop computers, monitors, smartphones, and collaboration software.
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday to Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. IST, unless otherwise assigned based on business needs. This schedule is intended to support required overlap with U.S. business hours. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
No travel is expected for this position.
