Data Engineer

About the role
VeCura Wellness operates a multi-centre medical slimming and body contouring network. We run a substantial paid acquisition funnel and are building an internal analytics capability from scratch.
This is the first hire into the data function. You will own the pipeline end to end — from source ingest through to the reporting layer leadership uses to make budget decisions.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain ingest pipelines from Meta Lead Ads, Google Ads, dialer CDR exports, WhatsApp Business API, and internal enrolment systems
Design and own an append-only event store in Postgres, with derived state rather than mutable status fields
Implement deduplication, idempotency handling, and retry logic for webhook sources
Build daily reconciliation jobs and alerting so that pipeline failures surface immediately rather than silently corrupting downstream numbers
Build cohort-based conversion reporting — contact rate, booking rate, show rate, close rate — segmented by channel, campaign, city, centre and agent
Maintain the reporting layer in Metabase
Implement data handling in line with DPDP requirements: consent versioning, India-resident hosting, no hard deletes

Required

2–5 years in data engineering or ETL development
Strong SQL, including query optimisation against high-volume relational databases
Python
PostgreSQL
Experience integrating third-party APIs and webhooks
Git, CI/CD

Preferred

Experience with marketing, ad-tech or attribution data
dbt
Metabase, Superset, or equivalent BI tooling
Prior work in healthcare or another regulated domain
