Job Description

About the Role
Karya is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Content Developer to join the Karya Learn Team. In this role, you will translate instructional blueprints into clear, engaging, and accessible learning materials designed for adult learners with varying literacy and digital skill levels.

You will work closely with the Instructional Designer and Head of Learning to bring learning modules to life—writing scripts, exercises, and assessments that make digital skilling intuitive and motivating. The ideal candidate has strong writing and editing skills, an eye for storytelling, and a passion for making learning simple, inclusive, and mobile-first.

Location & Reporting
This is a hybrid role based in Bengaluru. Candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to Bengaluru.
This role reports to the Associate Head of Learning and works closely with the Instructional Designer and design team

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop engaging learning content, scripts, and copy based on the instructional design framework provided by the Learn Team.
  • Write clear and concise learner-facing text (video narration, quizzes, reflection prompts, activity instructions, and feedback).
  • Adapt complex or technical concepts into easy-to-understand language suitable for low-literacy and first-time digital users.
  • Collaborate with the Instructional Designer, Head of Learning, and design team to ensure content is visually and pedagogically aligned.
  • Support the creation of assessments, microlearning units, and multimedia-based learning experiences.
  • Participate in pilot testing and revise content based on learner feedback and data insights.
  • Maintain version control and documentation for all learning assets.
  • Contribute creative ideas for improving learner engagement and storytelling across the curriculum.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Communication, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in learning content development, or instructional material creation.
  • Prior experience in edtech or workforce skilling organisations preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

This role requires a strong mix of creative content thinking and assertive project management skills. Please only apply if you have experience across both. 

Content Design & Development 

  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with attention to tone and learner empathy.
  • Ability to simplify complex ideas and write for diverse learner audiences.
  • Familiarity with learning design principles and adult learning approaches.
  • Comfort working on mobile-first or digital learning products.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple content projects simultaneously.
  • Develop engaging learning content, scripts, and copy aligned with instructional design frameworks.
  • Simplify complex concepts for low-literacy and first-time digital learners.
  • Maintain content documentation, version control, and quality standards across learning assets.

Project Management & Stakeholder Management

  • Own Learn content projects end-to-end, from 0-to-1 creation through deployment and iteration.
  • Manage timelines, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution and timely delivery.
  • Drive stakeholder reviews, consolidate feedback, and manage revisions efficiently.
  • Identify risks and dependencies early, communicating clear actions and solutions.
  • Align stakeholders on objectives, content, design, requirements, and launch timelines.
  • Maintain project trackers, documentation, version control, and clear communication.
  • Track post-deployment feedback and coordinate improvements for successful learner outcomes.
