Job Summary

The Data Engineer will support CDW’s enterprise data and analytics initiatives by designing, building, and maintaining reliable and scalable data pipelines within the Azure and Microsoft Fabric ecosystem. This role focuses on ingesting, transforming, and delivering curated data to support analytics, reporting, and data science use cases across the organization.

The ideal candidate is execution-focused, comfortable working within established architectures and standards, and experienced collaborating with teams to deliver production-quality data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain data ingestion and transformation pipelines using Azure Data Factory / Fabric Data Factory, SSIS, and related Azure services.

- Integrate source systems into the Enterprise Data Lake / Fabric Lakehouse following established data engineering standards and best practices.

- Support the preparation of curated datasets optimized for business intelligence, analytics, and data science use cases.

- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and architects to implement data models, transformations, and delivery patterns.

- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines to ensure reliability, performance, and operational stability.

- Document data pipelines, transformations, and operational procedures to support maintainability and knowledge transfer.

- Follow CI/CD, version control, and deployment practices to support promotion of data pipelines from development through production environments.

- Participate in code reviews and peer collaboration to ensure quality and consistency across solutions.

- Stay current on evolving Azure and Fabric capabilities and apply learnings as directed within the enterprise architecture.

What We Expect of You

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

- 1+ years of hands-on experience building data pipelines using Azure Data Factory / Fabric Data Factory or SSIS.

- Foundational understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and ETL/ELT patterns.

- Experience working with SQL and structured data transformations.

- Ability to follow defined architectures, standards, and engineering best practices.

- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve technical issues with guidance.

- Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with distributed, teams.

Nice to Have

- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Power BI integration).

- Experience supporting analytics or reporting workloads.

- Familiarity with DevOps pipelines, Git, or CI/CD practices.

- Prior experience working in an offshore or distributed delivery model.
