OTCTH: Connecticut Home Offices Remote Location, Remote City, CT, 06032 USAOtis is seeking a creative, curious and highly organized Communications & Visual Storytelling Intern for immediate hire to support internal communications and employee engagement efforts across the U.S. and Canada business. This role is ideal for a student interested in corporate communications, marketing, content creation, graphic design, social media, and digital storytelling.

Working closely with the Director of Communications, you'll help bring employee stories to life through compelling visuals, short-form video content, and written communications that showcase the people, projects and innovations driving our business forward.

This is a hands-on opportunity to build a professional portfolio while gaining experience inside a global company.

What You'll Do

Visual Content Creation

• Design engaging graphics and visual assets using Canva and PowerPoint for internal communications campaigns.
• Transform written content into visually compelling formats suitable for digital channels.
• Support the creation of infographics, social graphics, presentations and digital storytelling materials.
• Design the Sharepoint pages and visual layouts of our internal articles for Americas’ colleagues.
• Create branded visual content for employee recognition, leadership communications, business updates and engagement initiatives.

Video Editing & Short-Form Content

• Edit short-form videos for internal and external audiences.
• Develop video clips, reels and highlight content from interviews, events and existing footage.
• Apply motion graphics, captions, music and other creative elements to increase engagement.
• Recommend creative approaches for maximizing content across multiple channels.

Employee Storytelling & Content Development

• Conduct interviews with employees, leaders and subject matter experts to uncover compelling stories.
• Draft employee features, project spotlights and recognition stories.
• Help identify story opportunities that highlight innovation, customer impact, safety, culture and community engagement.
• Assist with content creation for internal communication platforms and social channels.

Communications Support

• Support editorial calendars and content planning activities.
• Review and edit written communications for clarity, tone and consistency.
• Assist with campaign execution, content organization and project tracking.
• Help gather photos, videos and other storytelling assets from colleagues across the organization.

What We're Looking For

Education

• Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Graphic Design, Digital Media or a related field.

Required Qualifications

• Strong graphic design capabilities and demonstrated experience with Canva and/or PowerPoint.
• Experience editing short-form video content using tools such as Canva, Adobe Premiere Rush, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines independently.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience interviewing people for content creation, journalism, social media or storytelling projects.
• Portfolio showcasing graphic design, video editing, written content, or digital storytelling work.
• Familiarity with social media content development and audience engagement.
• Interest in corporate communications and employee engagement.

• Location: Remote (U.S. - East Coast hours)

• Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week

The full-time hourly range for this role is $20/hr to $21/hr. The salary will be prorated to the number of hours worked. We may pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may change in the future. Pay within the salary range will be based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
