Cloud DevOps Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Cloud DevOps Engineer based in Brazil.

This is a fully remote opportunity for an experienced Cloud DevOps Engineer supporting modern web, mobile, and IoT applications.
You will design, provision, maintain, and optimize cloud infrastructure with a strong focus on reliability and automation.
The role combines SRE, DevOps, infrastructure engineering, CI/CD, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
You will work closely with developers and QA teams throughout the software delivery lifecycle, from development through production.
The position involves monitoring availability and performance, responding to incidents, and improving service resilience.
You will also contribute to secure, scalable infrastructure and automated deployment processes across cloud environments.
The role is suited to an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges in a distributed, remote environment.

Accountabilities

Provision and manage infrastructure components that support critical business services across cloud environments.

Develop, configure, deploy, and maintain tools used by SRE and DevOps teams.

Design and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions and automated infrastructure provisioning processes.

Create, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines supporting reliable software delivery.

Build and maintain Docker images, automation scripts, and deployment tooling.

Deploy applications across production and non-production environments and support teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Monitor service availability, reliability, performance, and capacity, identifying opportunities for optimization.

Handle support escalations, incident reviews, service recovery, and emergency response activities.

Manage infrastructure changes, validating new features and updates while maintaining service availability and reliability.

Maintain accurate technical and system documentation.

Provide infrastructure support and technical guidance to development and QA teams.

Apply security-hardening practices across Linux systems, Kubernetes, containers, and service-mesh environments.

Requirements

More than 5 years of professional experience working in SRE, DevOps, Systems Administration, or a closely related infrastructure role.

5+ years of hands-on Linux systems administration experience, particularly with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu, or Debian.

3+ years of experience with Kubernetes and Linux container technologies.

At least 1 year of experience with Helm, Kustomize, or equivalent Kubernetes configuration tools.

At least 1 year of experience with Istio or an equivalent service-mesh technology.

2+ years of experience with Terraform and cloud-based infrastructure provisioning.

Strong Bash scripting skills, with approximately 5+ years of practical experience.

2+ years of experience with managed Kubernetes services such as AWS EKS, Google GKE, or Azure AKS.

2+ years of experience creating and maintaining GitLab Pipelines, GitHub Actions, or equivalent CI/CD solutions.

3+ years of experience with Git or an equivalent version-control system.

2+ years of experience working with AWS, GCP, Azure, or comparable cloud platforms.

2+ years of programming or automation experience using Python, Go, or an equivalent language.

2+ years of experience with databases or managed data services such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, AWS RDS, or AWS DynamoDB.

2+ years of experience implementing security hardening for Linux, Kubernetes, Istio, and container environments.

2+ years of experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog or AWS CloudWatch.

Professional English proficiency at approximately B2/C1 level or above.

Cloud, DevOps, Kubernetes, or related certifications are considered an advantage.

Strong troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fully remote environment.
