Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Backend Developer (Python / FastAPI) to design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend applications. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Python, FastAPI, API development, database design, and cloud-native architectures. Experience in building enterprise-grade applications within fintech or other regulated industries is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Python and FastAPI.

Build secure, scalable, and high-performance RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and microservices.

Design, optimize, and maintain databases using PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.

Implement authentication, authorization, and secure coding practices using JWT, OAuth2, encryption, and industry security standards.

Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.

Develop clean, maintainable, and well-documented code with comprehensive unit and integration tests.

Collaborate with Frontend, DevOps, QA, and Product teams in Agile development cycles.

Deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, and support production environments.

Participate in code reviews and contribute to architecture and technical design discussions.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience in backend software development.

Strong proficiency in Python and the FastAPI framework.

Hands-on experience in developing REST APIs, WebSockets, or gRPC services.

Strong understanding of PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB, including schema design and query optimization.

Experience with SQLAlchemy, ORM frameworks, and asynchronous programming (asyncio).

Good understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.

Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Familiarity with message brokers such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Redis is an advantage.

Strong knowledge of secure coding practices, authentication mechanisms, and API security.

Experience with version control systems such as Git.

Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

Experience working in FinTech, Banking, or other regulated industries.

Knowledge of API gateways, service mesh, and event-driven architectures.

Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or similar platforms.

Experience with automated testing frameworks such as PyTest.

Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) is a plus.
