App Frontend Developer

Babylonia is a controlled-environment agriculture company based in Kozhikode. We build living walls, indoor farming systems, and the software that runs them. Small team, real products.

Role Description

This is an on-site app development role in Kozhikode, starting with a two-month internship and moving to full-time on satisfactory completion. Our apps control physical growing systems: people use them to set up their device, monitor what is happening, and control it. The apps exist and are in active development, so you will be picking up working codebases rather than starting from scratch. You will take ownership, close out open defects, and build what comes next. You will work directly with the founder and our backend developer.

What you will work on

• Build and maintain our mobile apps for Android and iOS.
• Connect the apps to physical hardware: device pairing, setup, and live control.
• Integrate REST APIs and handle real-time device state.
• Turn Figma designs into responsive, working screens.
• Push notifications, and releases to the Play Store and App Store.
• Close out the existing defect list and keep the codebases clean.

Qualifications

• You have built and shipped at least mobile app. Share it.
• Strong in either Flutter or React Native. We use both, so depth in and willingness to work in the other matters more than shallow familiarity with each.
• Comfortable with state management, whichever approach you prefer.
• REST API integration and Firebase.
• Comfortable reading and continuing someone else's code.
• Git, properly. Branches and pull requests, not zipped folders.
• Useful but not required: Bluetooth or device connectivity, Kotlin or Swift for native modules, Play Store and App Store release experience.
• Comfortable using AI tools to work faster.
