With a team of senior business lawyers with substantial in-house and general counsel experience, Outside GC provides private and public companies and non-profit organizations with outstanding corporate and IP legal services as needed at a fraction of the cost of either hiring a full-time general counsel or relying exclusively on law firm counsel. Clients typically develop a working relationship with Outside GC lawyer and have access to the whole team for specific subject-matter experience.

The support of an outstanding team of financial, operations, client relations and business development professionals to facilitate the delivery of exceptional, pragmatic, and cost-effective legal services to our clients.
At least 10+ years of corporate legal practice, including experience as an in-house attorney, serving as a General Counsel and/or in another senior in-house legal role and 3+ years of law firm training
Substantive legal experience as a broad corporate generalist
Demonstrated success as a practical, business-focused, and responsive legal partner
J.D. from a nationally accredited law school
State bar membership in state where reside/practice
Deep technology transactions experience (SaaS, cloud, software licensing, vendor/procurement deals); international experience helpful but not required
Strong practical AI literacy with foundation models, RAG, agents, training, fine-tuning, outputs, and feedback loops
Experience drafting and negotiating AI-related contract provisions such as data use, training rights, outputs, IP, confidentiality
Ability to advise on AI governance frameworks as the relate to vendor adoption, internal use, and risk allocation in technology transactions
Background in enterprise software, AI/ML, cloud, data platforms, or digital media
Privacy certification (e.g., CIPP)
Experience advising on data privacy, cybersecurity, and data governance as part of technology transactions and vendor relationships
Technical fluency and comfort engaging with engineering and product teams (formal technical background a plus)
Exposure to AI infrastructure, including hardware-software integration or compute/vendor arrangements (e.g. GPUs) preferred but not required
