Accounting Manager (Remote)

The Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial reporting process including the preparation of various monthly reports and financial statements. The Financial Reporting Manager ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and provides valuable insights to support decision-making processes. As part of the role, the person will oversee the reporting related to the Company’s international entities, reviewing the international subsidiaries’ monthly financial statements to ensure they are accurate in accordance with United States generally accepted accounting principles (“US GAAP’). Responsibilities also include coordinating with the international subsidiaries’ accounting functions to provide timely, meaningful and accurate financial information and maintain compliance with internal controls over financial reporting. This role also serves as the primary point of contact for the audit or our annual financial statements, including certain footnote disclosures

• Impact: This position is high visibility and will have a direct role in helping to establish accounting policies that will impact the financial well-being of the company.  Additionally, this position will be responsible for helping to ensure that our financial statements are accurate and free of material misstatement. May have access to sensitive information.
  What will you be doing?

Manage the preparation of monthly financial statements used for bank reporting and management reporting.
Assist in researching technical accounting issues and drafting related whitepapers, ensuring proper accounting treatment and/or implementation of guidance.
Manage the preparation and support of the audited annual financial statements.
Serve as a key point of contact for the external auditors.

Communicate and coordinate with accounting personnel at our international locations, providing them with monthly documentation necessary for a timely and accurate close.
Provide accounting support and help ensure consistent policy and procedure implementation at our international entities.
Compile and analyze financial information to review and participate in month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing and reporting activities.

Lead the preparation of monthly financial variance analysis reports.
Take a leading role in the implementation of internal controls and process improvements

• Work Environment: Home office setting (virtual) – acceptable internet speed and ability to work uninterrupted and free of distractions
• Working Relationships: This position will partner with various levels throughout various departments and is a key member of the Financial Reporting team that will also work closely with the Corporate Accounting team, FP&A team, Revenue Accounting team, and International Accounting teams.

 
What do we require from you

• Knowledge and Skills: Previous experience with financial reporting, including preparation of footnote disclosures required (or working in these areas in the capacity of an auditor)
  Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  Attention to detail is crucial to ensure accuracy and prevent errors or discrepancies in financial information.
  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be able to identify the root cause of problems and propose solutions to correct issues.
  Able to convey complex financial information clearly at the executive level, both verbally and in writing.
  Able to work independently and with others, to contribute to team goals.
  Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities while working remotely.
  Must maintain high ethical standards, meet confidentiality requirements, to ensure the security and privacy of financial data.
  Proficient in using accounting software, spreadsheets, and financial management tools.
  Proficient experience with Microsoft Excel: advanced spreadsheet skills required, including but not limited to: Pivot Tables and Vlookups.
  Demonstrated ability to learn accounting and reporting applications in a short period of time.

Education/Certification/License Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
Preferred:

Master's degree in accounting 
Certification (or working toward) such as CPA, CA, or CMA

• Required Work Experience: 5-7 years of progressive experience with most recent role at the manager level or equivalent, or strong, experienced senior with leadership experience that is ready to take the next step in their career.
