City Lead - Quick Commerce GSF Last Mile

Role Overview Amazon is looking for a dynamic and results-driven City Lead to oversee all budgetary, people development, and operations objectives at our Amazon Fresh Fulfillment Center in Chennai. This is a mid-senior leadership role where you will manage a team of Team Leads and Area Managers while driving operational excellence across the fulfillment center. You will play a critical role in ensuring safety, quality, customer experience, and productivity targets are consistently achieved. Key Responsibilities - Develop and execute staffing plans, scheduling, quality initiatives, and process improvement strategies aligned with business goals - Set clear expectations for Area Managers and Channel Team Leads while monitoring and evaluating their performance - Partner with support functions including HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety and Loss Prevention, and IT to drive cross-functional projects - Share best practices across departments, shifts, and the broader fulfillment network - Review daily work forecasts and determine productivity requirements to meet overall building objectives - Ensure full compliance with all safety programs and OSHA standards to maintain a safe work environment - Proactively identify and implement process improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma tools - Address operational and personnel issues promptly and escalate complex concerns with proposed solutions to senior management Required Qualifications - Minimum 2 years of experience in employee and performance management - Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification, or 2 or more years of Amazon full-time employee experience - Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays as required - Preferred: 1 or more years of experience in performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques Why Join Us At Amazon, we foster an inclusive culture that empowers every team member to deliver outstanding results for our customers.
